Ready or not, the holidays are right around the corner.
This year, the holiday season will coincide with my preparation for
graduate school. The winter term begins on January 9; therefore, I have been searching for DIY alternatives to all things "holiday". I thought I'd share some of the ideas and projects that I am currently considering for holiday cards, decor, and gifts. (Like the above "Candied Crumbcatcher" necklace - DIY tutorial
here.)
Sending out holiday cards is a tradition that I adore, and one that
WYWH is very much looking forward to. Know that we would love to work with you this season to put together something special and meaningful for your friends and family.
I plan on re-creating one of the above beauties for my own holiday cards this year (thank you, blogosphere, for your continual and always-crafty inspiration). If only I had a
letterpress - - deep sigh, a girl can dream, right?
Below are a few more gift ideas that I am considering. If you play your cards right, you may find one of these under your tree.
Not sure if you've noticed the price of wrapping paper lately, but it is kind of expensive, and not the most eco-friendly practice. So, I think it's time to consider some alternatives.
As far as friends and co-workers go, I hope to try my hand at homemade candies. You can't really go wrong with sweets, right?
As you can see, I'm pretty excited about the upcoming season of craft making and gift giving. 2012 is going to bring with it some much needed fresh air and a new sense of self. I can't wait to wrap up this year with some cold weather, family, and yummy treats. Enjoy!
Ryan
