Resolve

I envy those who are strong enough to abstain from making grandiose promises to themselves each January. Yes, I recognize that there are some who go to the gym regularly, avoid dairy products daily, and read because they enjoy it. Unfortunately, I need the new calendar year to encourage such aspirations.

I unashamedly make New Year's resolutions. I write lists and set wildly idealistic goals; most of which are sabotaged by February. However, this year (like every year before) is going to be different. Why, you ask? Well, because I have a blog; and because I have four devoted readers to whom I am accountable.

In 2012, I resolve to do the following:

Here's to a new year, a fresh start, and an impressive list of lofty ambitions.

(I happen to be looking forward to 48 more hours of bad habits. Who's with me?)

Get some rest and enjoy the holiday weekend! See you next year -

Christmas brought with it many thoughtful and lovely gifts; however, only one made me tingle.

I can't even bring myself to remove the plastic sleeve. Baby steps -

Hello, Holiday Season!

Despite my best efforts to prepare, the holiday season made it's annual surprise visit once again. The last thing that I can remember [with clarity] is the turkey being served, and here we are - one month later.

Since last we spoke, I have shared a few special moments with my family.

We went to Connecticut to visit my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew - Hudson.
I became an aunt for the seventh time. Meet my youngest niece, Ivey Carolina.
My oldest niece, Autumn, turned eleven. Isn't she beautiful?

As my first day of school draws nearer, and the days of regular health benefits and morning meetings come to a close, I can't help but be terrified excited for what's to come. That's the beauty of "doing what you love" right? In the mean time, while I prepare for a completely new every day life, you can rest assured that WYWH is keeping busy.

This holiday season, I am happy to report that WYWH designed three sets of holiday cards. While I intend to provide a DIY tutorial for one or more of these, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite details.

While there are only a handful of days between now and December 25, I hope you are taking some time to enjoy the season. Hot chocolate, caramel, twinkle lights, etc. Because really, it doesn't get much better than this time a year.

From my little family to yours...

Happy Holidays,

Ryan
