Tuesday Tip

Tip: Do not allow yourself to walk into a store, full of items that you want, and expect not to walk out with each of them.

Confession: It has been months since I've allowed myself to enter any one of my favorite retail locations (Anthropologie, Target, H&M). You see, I am an impulse buyer and I am currently on a spending freeze. However, I kind of, sort of, accidentally had a weak moment yesterday and allowed myself to "swing by" Urban Outfitters on my way home from work; because, well, I heard there was a sale. My fate was sealed the moment I got into my car.

Envelope Tote
Isn't it lovely? I bought it in blue. I know, the guilt has been eating at me since I left the store, but honestly - it was quite affordable considering how large it is, 13.5"L x 14''H.
(It's a piece of luggage, I know.)

Do not fret, my "spending-freeze" has recommenced and sadly, my impulse buy of the season has expired. The anticipation is gone - I have nothing left to swoon over.

Oh wait, it also comes in white! Enjoy!

Friday Find (on Etsy)

Taurus
I did my best to stay away from animal illustrations this week. I wasn't completely successful, but I just cannot help myself. Sabrina Tibourtine of Froschkind is some kind of wonderful. These images are hauntingly simple - in the most beautiful kind of way.

Aquarius
The horoscope series is officially on my wish list.

Decorative Tape

WYWH is currently working on an invitation suite for a baby shower that will take place in early November. I cannot wait to share the step-by-step tutorial with you later this month. For now, however, I leave you with the above detail - the flip side of a #10 note card that will be used for said invitations.

Instead of using a printable decal to display the WYWH logo and website, I have decided to go with a more cost effective and logical approach - my business card - adhered with a strip of fabric tape

I would love to hear your thoughts. Happy Wednesday -

Friday Find (on Etsy)

Donna McKenzie of Corelladesign.

I have been eyeing the above piece for a while now; printed on matte poly/cotton canvas, it is no doubt worth the price tag - which, by the way, is extremely affordable.

April Bear
Rabbits Love Scarves
My love of illustrated animals is unexplainable and irrational, but I've come to terms with it. Bears and rabbits, in particular, seem to tug at my personal aesthetic - so, it's no surprise that Corelladesign won me over. I mean, really.

Bears Love Flannel Shirts
A Bear in Our Garden
Three's a Crowd
Donna McKenzie of Corelladesign is lovely, and obviously sharp as a tack . I hope you've enjoyed this little slice of wit and fun on your Friday morning.

Weekend Get-Away

The Habersham Hacienda
I spent the better part of Labor Day weekend 70 miles north of Atlanta; enjoying the sights, sounds, and cuisine of Georgia's newest get-away, The Habersham Hacienda. What was once a large residential estate, complete with a 70,000 gallon pool, tennis courts, maid's quarters, etc., has been transformed by owner Michel Niesen into a rustic and sustainable mini-farm - complete with free range chickens, vegetable gardens, and a live-in chef.

homemade cheese, etc.

The decor, ambiance, and cuisine is evidence of a clever and well traveled owner. The property is riddled with the romantic details and charming surprises that Michele Niesen is known for.

As I have said before, this place is magic. It is the perfect North Georgia get-away. No matter the occasion; be it a wedding, a retreat, or a party - the Hacienda is a breath of fresh air. So, take a deep breath and enjoy.

Tuesday Tip

Free advice; I'll take it.

A little over a year ago, when WYWH was all but an idea, I spent days, weeks, months reading blogs and doing research - gathering inspiration, information and courage to brand my small idea. Lately, however, I have found it easier to move forward thanks to people like Grace Bonney of Design Sponge

Design Sponge posts a series on their site called Biz Ladies, where women running design-based businesses are able to connect and gather free advice. As one would expect, Rosie is a common sight.

Biz Ladies
I recently came across this post on Biz Ladies written by Elizabeth Grace Saunders. As you will see, there are many great tips nestled into the article, however I'd like to point out one in particular - an online organization tool that I fully expect to shape the way WYWH does business: Evernote

I am a sucker for online calendars, digital note pads, to-do lists, share files, Google Reader, etc. - anything to streamline the modern day communication process. However, I suddenly feel like I am standing at the edge of a wonderfully organized and digitally advanced chapter in my life; this chapter is called Evernote.

Friday Find (on Etsy)

Bear Art
Etsy is a place to buy and sell handmade and vintage items. I am sure many of you are familiar with the site, so I won't belabor the genius factor of it all. However, I will encourage you take some time to peruse the site, as it is a great resource when purchasing gifts, hosting an event, planning a wedding, etc.

Every now and then I come across an object/accessory/work of art on Etsy that sticks with me; so, as a means to keep record of said items, I am officially instituting "Friday Finds". Helen Ann Marie Jones, of Heavenly Creatures Art, is a current favorite.

Elephant Art
Deer Art
Sheep Art
Giraffe Art
They're just plain sweet, and I want an entire wall of them.

Enjoy your holiday weekend.
